Buchter's contract was selected by the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Buchter was designated for assignment in early July, but he remained in the organization and will rejoin the major-league bullpen as the Diamondbacks deal with a COVID-19 outbreak. He allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out six in three innings across three appearances since returning to the minors.
