Mariners closer Fernando Rodney escaped a shaky outing for the save Monday night against the Astros. Rodnet allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 4-1 victory. He needed 30 pitches to work out of the jam.
Rodney has converted 44 of 47 save chances, with a 2.54 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP over 40 1/3 innings of relief.
