Brooks is starting at first base and batting ninth in Friday's series opener against the Yankees.
Brooks will make his second major-league start since being selected from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday. He's gone 0-for-3 across his two outings with the Giants, and he'll look for his first hit in the majors Friday against Yankees right-hander Marcus Stroman.
