Orioles starting pitcher Kevin Gausman, who was roughed up in his previous start, bounced back with a solid outing but did not factor in the decision Thursday night against the Red Sox.

Gausman served up solo homers to David Ortiz and Mike Carp for his only mistakes of the night. The right-hander permitted two runs on six hits while striking out five in 5 1/3 innings pitched. He threw 91 pitches, 56 for strikes.

Gauman is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday at Detroit. He is 0-3 with a whopping 12.15 ERA in three starts away from home.
