  • Orioles' Leody Taveras: Goes yard in three-RBI game

Taveras went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Royals.

Taveras tallied his second-highest RBI output of the season, last collecting at least three RBI during the April 20 win in Kansas City. The switch-hitting outfielder had gone hitless in his prior 15 at-bats to Sunday and remains stuck in a part-time role, slashing an uninspiring .237/.314/.364 with 19 extra-base hits, 34 RBI, 10 stolen bases and 35 runs scored over 290 plate appearances this year.

  • Orioles' Shane Baz: Mixed results in short start

Baz took a no-decision Sunday against the Royals, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out nine.

It was a mixed bag for Baz, who gave up three extra-base hits in an abbreviated start but matched a season high in punchouts. Although the 27-year-old right-hander had a 5.48 ERA and 1.56 WHIP through his first eight outings of the year, he's fared far better lately with a 3.21 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across his last 11 appearances. For the campaign, Baz has a 4.11 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 99:42 K:BB over 111.2 innings in his first year with the Orioles.

  • Orioles' Blaze Alexander: Dealing with hand fracture

Manager Craig Albernaz said Alexander was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture in his left hand after being hit by a pitch in Sunday's game against the Royals, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Alexander went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored before being plunked in the bottom of the seventh inning and being replaced by a pinch runner. It's a brutal development for the 27-year-old, who is now likely to miss at least the next couple weeks after batting .365 (35-for-96) with 10 extra-base hits, three steals, 15 RBI and 16 runs in 32 games since the start of June.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Idle for series finale

Rutschman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Rutschman will get a chance to rest in the Orioles' final game before the All-Star break after he had started behind the plate both of the previous two days and had been included in the lineup at catcher or designated hitter in each of the last nine contests. With Rutschman taking a seat, Samuel Basallo will handle catching duties and Taylor Ward will get a turn as the Orioles' DH.

  • Orioles' Pete Alonso: Belts 21st long ball

Alonso went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a double in a 6-1 win against the Royals on Saturday.

Alonso hit one of four Baltimore homers in the contest, though his fourth-inning, two-run blast was the only one that wasn't a solo shot. The slugger also smacked a double to tally multiple extra-base hits in the same game for the first time since June 13. Alonso has enjoyed a strong first half in his first campaign with the Orioles, slashing .253/.348/.478 with 21 home runs -- tied for 12th-most in the majors -- 59 runs, 64 RBI and two stolen bases through 96 contests.

  • Orioles' Taylor Ward: Ends power drought in win

Ward went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Royals.

Ward snapped a long homer drought, last leaving the yard June 22 in Anaheim. The veteran outfielder has hit safely in eight of his last nine games amid what's been something of a bizarre season at the plate so far. Ward sports a career-high .385 on-base percentage and is batting a respectable .256 through 434 plate appearances, but his .361 slugging percentage is his lowest mark since 2019 and comes after he slugged a career-high .475 with 36 homers over 157 games for the Angels in 2025.

  • Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Flirts with no-no Saturday

Bradish (6-9) earned the win over Kansas City on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 6.2 innings.

Bradish retired the side in order in five of his first six frames and carried a no-hitter into the seventh. He finally wilted a bit in that inning, as the Royals tallied two singles and a walk to score a run and force his exit with two outs. Nonetheless, Bradish snapped a two-game losing streak and picked up his second straight quality start (and his fourth over his past five outings). The right-hander will carry a 6-9 record into the All-Star break, but his other stats suggest he's pitched better than that, as he has a 3.61 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 106:50 K:BB across 107.1 innings spanning 19 starts.

  • Orioles' Kevin Roberts: Drafted by Baltimore

The Orioles selected Roberts with the No. 110 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.

Roberts' power and speed give him 30-30 potential in time, if he can hit enough as he moves up the professional ranks. An impressive athlete and former two-way player, Roberts will focus on hitting moving forward.

  • Orioles' Ryan Helsley: Avoids structural damage

Helsley was diagnosed Saturday with inflammation around the UCL in his right elbow, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Helsley landed on the injured list July 3 due to elbow discomfort, and although he's dealing with inflammation that will keep him sidelined for an extended period of time, manager Craig Albernaz confirmed that the 31-year-old reliever hasn't suffered any structural damage to his UCL. A timeline for his recovery could begin to come into focus once he begins a throwing program, but the team is optimistic that Helsley will be back before the end of the season. In the meantime, Tyler Wells and Andrew Kittredge will likely factor into the mix for saves in Baltimore.

  • Orioles' Yaramil Hiraldo: Activated, optioned to Triple-A

The Orioles reinstated Hiraldo (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Hiraldo has been on the shelf since early April due to right shoulder inflammation. He began a rehab assignment in the minors June 30 and has since given up two earned runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four batters in 4.2 innings. Now fully healthy, he'll stay put at Norfolk and fill in as organizational bullpen depth.

  • Orioles' Dominic Voegele: Goes to O's in third round

The Orioles selected Voegele with the No. 82 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.

Voegele hasn't had the same success his last two years for Kansas as he did as a freshman, so the Orioles likely see several areas where they can improve his stuff and delivery. The 6-foot-2 righty has good raw stuff to work with if the Orioles can improve some elements of his operation.

  • Orioles' Blaze Alexander: Idle Saturday

Alexander isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Kansas City.

Alexander will grab a seat on the bench after going 2-for-4 with a homer and an additional run scored in Friday's victory. His absence will allow Coby Mayo to start at third base while batting seventh.

  • Orioles' Ty Head: Drafted by Baltimore

The Orioles selected Head with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.

The draft-eligible sophomore showcased improved power during his second collegiate season, clubbing 14 home runs with 26 steals and a .291 average in 56 games during this spring at NC State. Head has an aggressive approach and strong contact skills with clear 20-20 potential.

  • Orioles' Eric Booth: Snagged by O's in top 10

The Orioles selected Booth with the seventh overall pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.

Booth's father excelled as a kick returner at Southern Mississippi, so it's no surprise that Booth's top tool is his 70-grade speed. His swing and throwing motion are unconventional, and he worked to improve his throwing arm to average this year to allow him to profile in center field. He makes consistent contact with his choppy swing, yet doesn't get the most of his pure bat speed as he hasn't figured out how to consistently pull the ball in the air. By his mid-20s, Booth could be a 25-homer hitter, but there's work to do to get there. His speed is undeniable and isn't going anywhere, and Booth didn't turn 18 until a week before the draft, so he has plenty of time to refine his hitting mechanics. The floor is pretty low, given Booth's current hitting mechanics, but Booth's long-term fantasy upside is as high as anyone in the class.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Working through slump

Henderson went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in Friday's 5-3 win over the Royals.

The imminent All-Star break could be coming at an opportune time for Henderson, who's mired in a brutal slump. Over his last 15 outings, the star shortstop has gone just 10-for-61 (.164) with two extra-base hits, two RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base. Through 430 plate appearances overall, Henderson is slashing a career-worst .219/.291/.394 with 16 homers, 41 RBI, 53 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

  • Orioles' Andrew Kittredge: Secures second straight save

Kittredge earned the save in Friday's 5-3 win over the Royals, when he allowed one hit and struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.

Kittredge was called out of the bullpen for the ninth inning to protect the Orioles' two-run lead. He yielded a one-out double to Michael Massey, but Kittredge recovered by getting the next two batters out, capped off by a four-pitch strikeout of Josh Rojas. Kittredge has been tapped for save chances in each of Baltimore's last two games, and he could be ahead of Tyler Wells to be the team's preferred closer in the absence of Ryan Helsley (elbow).
