Bergman gave up an earned run on a hit and a walk over 3.2 innings in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. He struck out two.
The 29-year-old right-hander enjoyed a solid Mariners debut, eating up some valuable innings after spot starter Dillon Overton exited. Bergman will try to bounce back from a forgettable 2016 season with the Rockies in which he posted an 8.39 ERA and 1.82 WHIP over 24.7 innings, and if his first appearance is any indication, he looks like a viable multi-inning option for manager Scott Servais.
