Single-A Modesto placed Farmelo on its 7-day injured list Friday after he was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Farmelo, one of the Mariners' top prospects, suffered the injury Tuesday and is slated to undergo season-ending surgery in the coming days. He was off to a strong start to the season with Modesto, slashing .264/.398/.421 slash line with 18 steals in 221 plate appearances.
