Mariners pitcher James Paxton has started playing catch from 60 feet, reports the Seattle Times.

Paxton has been out since May 28 with a sprained finger on his left hand. Despite the progress, manager Lloyd McClendon said Paxton won't be back anytime soon.

"This is going to be a slow process for Paxton," McClendon said. "Pax is going to be out for a while."
