The Mariners signed Woods Richardson to a minor-league contract Wednesday and was assigned to Triple-A Tacoma.
Woods Richardson entered free agency Tuesday after being designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Friday. The veteran right-hander will get a new opportunity with Seattle and could get an opportunity to pitch for the big club if he strings together strong outings in the minors. Woods Richardson has a 6.68 ERA and 1.76 WHIP across 66 major-league innings this season.
