Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Padres. The young backstop had started nine of the last 10 games for Miami, batting .314 with two home runs over that stretch.
But he'll catch a break on Friday with Jeff Mathis starting behind the plate.
