Gordon will bat ninth Tuesday against the Cardinals, Craig Davis of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The Marlins have dropped 10 of their last 13 and manager Don Mattingly has responded by dropping Gordon to the opposite end of the batting order, although it remains to be seen if this will be the new norm for Miami. Following an 0-for-3 showing Monday, Gordon now sits with a .262 average and .316 on-base percentage through 136 plate appearances this season. Tuesday marks Gordon's first start outside of the leadoff spot since he was traded to the Marlins.
