Cooper isn't in the Marlins' lineup Friday against Detroit, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper is just 2-for-13 with five strikeouts across his last four games, so he'll sit out Friday's contest to regroup. Yuli Gurriel will take over at first base and bat fifth in Cooper's place.
