The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Soriano hasn't gotten off to a great start this season, giving up nine earned runs in just 11.2 innings while turning in a 10:5 K:BB. He'll now attempt to right the ship in the minors; meanwhile, Patrick Monteverde will come up from Jacksonville to fill the open spot in Miami's bullpen.
