Realmuto is batting sixth in the Marlins' lineup against the Nationals on Thursday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
Realmuto had been a staple in the two-hole for Miami's first two contests, but after the light show he's put on through the first two games, it appears that manager Don Mattingly wanted to put Realmuto in more of a run-producing position in the lineup against left-handed hurler Gio Gonzalez. It's unclear if this is a temporary switch or a sign of things to come, but while this position in the lineup could help Realmuto drive in more runs than he's been able to the past couple years, it would cost him some runs and plate appearances, likely serving as a net negative..
