Wendle agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Marlins on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Wendle's agreement contains a mutual option for 2023 and means that he won't have to go through arbitration during the 2022 season. The 31-year-old is hitting .323 with three doubles, four runs, four RBI and a stolen base this year.
