The Mets selected Hudson's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday and optioned him to Syracuse.
The Mets will be allowed a 27-man roster for their series in London this weekend against the Phillies, and Hudson would appear to be a good bet to join the big club as a third catcher. Hudson, who has posted an .808 OPS over 66 plate appearances with Syracuse this season, last appeared in the majors in 2020.
