Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Polanco had served as the Mets' designated hitter in the first two games of the series, but he'll cede those duties to Brett Baty in the finale. Since being activated from the 60-day injured list July 7, Polanco has yet to start in more than two straight contests and is batting a wretched .097/.138/.177 with one home run, three RBI and four runs.
