Merryweather signed a minor-league deal with the Mets on Saturday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
Merryweather was let go by the Cubs on May 30 and will now have a new opportunity. He struggled across 21 games in Chicago this year, logging a 5.79 ERA and 1.82 WHIP, but he could find his way into the Mets' bullpen.
