The Mets outrighted Short to Triple-A Syracuse after he cleared waivers Saturday.
Short no longer possesses a spot on the Mets' 40-man roster, but he'll stick around in the organization as infield depth at the Triple-A level. The 31-year-old has appeared in 26 games in the majors this season between the Tigers and Mets, slashing .159/.278/.205 across 55 plate appearances.
