Mets' Zack Short: DFA'd by Mets

The Mets designated Short for assignment on Wednesday, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.

Short has now been pushed off a 40-man roster for the second time in less than two weeks after Detroit previously designated him for assignment June 12. The 31-year-old appeared in just three games for the Mets after being claimed off waivers. He'll give up his roster spot to shortstop Francisco Lindor (calf), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cubs.
