The Nationals designated Ramirez for assignment Tuesday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
Ramirez slashed just .243/.273/.365 in 25 games for the Nationals, which was only a modest improvement over the .268/.284/.305 he hit with the Rays earlier this season. The 29-year-old still boasts a career .316/.351/.438 batting line against lefties, so he could draw some interest from a club in need a short-side platoon bat.
