Gallo (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Gallo participated in on-field work over the weekend and his hamstring held up well enough for the Nationals to send him out on a rehab assignment. Gallo is scheduled to play first base for five innings Tuesday, then serve as a designated hitter Wednesday before logging five to seven innings in right field Thursday. It's unclear if the Nationals plan on activating Gallo after Thursday's game, or if his rehab assignment will extend through the weekend. Once he returns from the 10-day injured list, Gallo may not be an everyday member of the lineup, as the Nationals have gotten solid results of late from Juan Yepez and Alex Call at first base and right field, respectively.
