Johnson is still in the mix for the final spot on the Nationals' bench.
He's hit an underwhelming .276/.371/.310 in 29 at-bats this spring, but Johnson would give the Nats a veteran right-handed pinch-hitter as well as extra depth in the outfield behind Michael Taylor. Whoever wins the job might have a only hold onto it until the club decides to call up Trea Turner.
