After going 8-13 with a 6.28 ERA in 28 games last season with Triple-A Round Rock and Double-A Frisco, Rangers pitching prospect Neil Ramirez has gotten off to a great start this year. Ramirez, who is considered the team's 17th-best prospect by MLB.com, allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings Thursday night with Frisco.

The right-hander is 3-0 with a 2.75 ERA in seven starts to go along with 44 strikeouts and 18 walks. He has only surrendered one home run and opponents are hitting just .155 off him.

"He has been good all year," Frisco manager Steve Buechele told MLB.com. "It's not just the stuff. He seems more relaxed and more confident. He's a different person, as well as a different pitcher. Everybody has seen the stuff from Neil over the years. But nobody has seen it consistent like we have, and that's a nice step for Neil."
