Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Mateo is day-to-day with right hip discomfort after exiting Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Nationals, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Though he was pulled from the game while displaying a noticeable limp, Mateo appears to have avoided a serious injury. The Orioles have an off day Thursday that should prove beneficial for Mateo, but he's still not a lock to be ready to play in Friday's series opener versus Detroit.
