Hays is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Hays started the past two games after being activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, and he'll receive Sunday off after going 2-for-8 with a double and an RBI. Brandon Marsh will shift to left field while Johan Rojas receives the nod in center.
