The Phillies designated Hall for assignment Friday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
It's been clear for a while the Hall didn't have much of a future in Philadelphia, and he's now off the 40-man roster with the Phillies needing the spot for someone else. The 29-year-old has just a .726 OPS this season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but he's put up some big numbers in the minors in the past, so there could be interest from a team with more of a need at first base or designated hitter.
