The Phillies activated Covey (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and outrighted him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Tim Kelly of Phillies Nation reports.
Covey has pitched well on his rehab assignment with Lehigh Valley, allowing just one run with a 9:3 K:BB over eight innings. However, the Phillies have elected to keep him there rather than add him to the major-league roster. Covey missed the first four months of the season with a shoulder strain.
