Allard (2-0) yielded two runs on eight hits over five innings Sunday, striking out five and earning a win over the Royals.
Allard made his first MLB appearance since Aug. 8 and delivered his second straight win. He coughed up a pair of solo homers to Bobby Witt and Maikel Garcia but was able to maneuver around the rest of the Royals lineup. Allard has looked solid in his minimal MLB usage this season, posting a 3.50 ERA with a 13:2 K:BB through 18 innings. The Phillies don't have a day off until Sep. 2 so Allard could stick around for another appearance before heading back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
