Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly said that Arraez (ankle) has improved enough to potentially be used as a pinch hitter during Sunday's game versus the Rays, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Arraez has not taken any swings since suffering a left ankle sprain Thursday, so an appearance off the bench Sunday seems unlikely. However, with the Phillies still trying to lock in their playoff berth, anything is on the table. Bryson Stott is playing second base for the Phillies on Sunday.
