Phillies' Luis Arraez: Goes deep in Wednesday's loss
Arraez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run during the Phillies' 10-4 extra-innings loss to the Nationals on Wednesday.
Arraez got the Phillies on the board with a leadoff homer off Jake Irvin in the second inning. It was the fifth home run of the season for Arraez and first as a member of the Phillies. He's gone 3-for-9 with three RBI and two extra-base hits in his first two games with his new team.

Phillies' Luis Arraez: Unlikely to debut until Tuesday
Arraez will travel to Philadelphia on Monday and is expected to be formally activated by the Phillies ahead of Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
The Phillies acquired Arraez and right-hander Caleb Kilian from the Giants earlier Monday, sending back minor-league right-handers Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair to San Francisco in the deal. A four-time All-Star and three-time batting champion, Arraez is expected to settle into an everyday role at second base upon joining the team, per Matt Gelb of The Athletic. Bryson Stott has been serving as the Phillies' primary option at the keystone this season, but he's likely to move to third base to accommodate Arraez. Meanwhile, Alec Bohm is expected to shift across the diamond to first base, which would shift Bryce Harper into a regular role in right field for the first time since April 2022.

Phillies' Luis Arraez: On move to Philly
The Phillies acquired Arraez and right-hander Caleb Kilian from the Giants on Monday in exchange for right-handers Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
The addition of a high-contact bat in Arraez -- who leads the National League with a .324 average -- lengthens a Philadelphia lineup that includes three other All-Stars in Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber and Brandon Marsh. Arraez had mainly been limited to first base and designated hitter the previous two seasons, but he's transitioned back to an everyday role at second base in 2026 and has made tremendous strides as a defender after receiving poor marks for his fielding and range at the keystone earlier in his career. The 29-year-old will presumably continue to see most of his reps at second base in Philadelphia, where he'll unseat Bryson Stott as the primary option at the position. In order to accommodate Arraez while still keeping playing time open for their other established regulars, the Phillies could look to move Stott, Alec Bohm and/or Bryce Harper to different positions.

Giants' Luis Arraez: Good to go Sunday
Arraez (cramps) will start at second base and bat leadoff Sunday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The 29-year-old was scratched from the starting nine ahead of Saturday's 6-5 loss after experiencing cramps during pregame warmups -- which first forced him to exit Friday's contest -- but he'll rejoin the lineup Sunday. Arraez batted .316 over 24 games in July, though he didn't provide much pop with just five extra-base hits and a .367 slugging percentage, which is down from .446 for the campaign. The 29-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent this winter and could be moved ahead of Monday's trade deadline.

Giants' Luis Arraez: Scratched due to cramps
Arraez was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Padres due to cramping, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Arraez experienced the symptoms during pregame warmups and was removed from the Giants' lineup for "precautionary reasons" after exiting due to the same issue Friday. Osleivis Basabe will now start at second base and bat ninth while Bryce Eldridge hits out of the leadoff spot.

Arraez was removed early from Friday's game as a precaution due to cramping, but the issue appears to have resolved itself ahead of Saturday's tilt. The 29-year-old has been seeing the ball extremely well as of late, going 14-for-34 (.412) with six RBI and four runs in his last eight games.

Giants' Luis Arraez: Battling cramps
Arraez was removed from Friday's game against the Padres due to cramps, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Manager Tony Vitello said after the game that Arraez began to cramp up while playing in the San Diego heat, so he was pulled from the game as a precaution. If the 29-year-old infielder needs another day off to recover, Christian Koss, Jesus Rodriguez and Osleivis Basabe would be in the running to fill in at second base.

Arraez recorded a season-high-tying four hits, hitting RBI singles in the sixth and seventh innings. This was Arraez's first multi-hit effort since the All-Star break -- he went just 3-for-20 (.150) over five road games once the schedule resumed.
