The Phillies outrighted Nelson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
Nelson is no longer on the 40-man roster, but he will remain in the organization as relief depth in the minors. The righty has spent most of his season at Lehigh Valley, collecting an 8.35 ERA.
