German cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
German was designated for assignment Thursday by the Pirates but will stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. In two stints with Pittsburgh this season, the 32-year-old has a 7.84 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 18:13 K:BB across 20.2 innings.
