Speaking on his Sunday radio show, general manager Neal Huntington said he was pleased with Taillon's progress after the pitcher's surgery for testicular cancer, but he noted it was still too early to give a timetable for return.

"Our fingers are crossed, he's champing at bit, so far, so good, but he's got some markers to cross," Huntington said. "There are still some unknowns. It's too early to dive into anything at this point." The Pirates are handling Taillon's situation with the utmost caution, but the initial post-surgery indicators sound encouraging.
