Winkler was reassigned to minor-league camp Wednesday.
Winkler made 47 relief appearances for the Cubs last year and posted a 5.22 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 39.2 innings. While he'll begin the 2022 campaign in the minors, the right-hander will be a candidate to serve as bullpen depth at some point in 2022.
