The Rangers recalled Evans from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Evans will rejoin the Rangers as a replacement on the active roster for starting pitcher Dane Dunning, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with an ankle impingement. Though he's posted some gaudy strikeout rates throughout his minor-league career, Evans hasn't shown enough control to emerge as a trusted late-inning arm at the MLB level. Through 13 appearances with Texas this season, Evans has submitted a 5.65 ERA and 1.53 WHIP while walking eight batters over 14.1 innings.
