The Rangers optioned Evans to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Evans was one of two Texas pitchers optioned to minor-league camp Wednesday, joining Yerry Rodriguez. Though he's performed well during his time at the Double- and Triple-A levels, Evans hasn't been able to translate his swing-and-miss stuff to success in the majors. Over 29 career MLB appearances spanning 30.1 innings, Evans owns a 5.13 ERA (5.28 xFIP).
