Evans was assigned outright to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.
Evans was removed from the Rangers' 40-man roster last weekend, and none of MLB's other 29 teams were willing to take a flier on him. The right-hander impressed in a small cup of coffee with the big club at the tail end of the 2020, but he was unable to build on that success in 2021, and things have fallen apart for him at the Triple-A level this season (7.50 ERA, 1.75 WHIP, 14 walks in 12 innings).
