The Rangers activated Montgomery (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Friday.
Montgomery hasn't pitched in the big leagues in nearly 23 months after undergoing UCL surgery in March of 2025. The left-hander worked as a started on his rehab assignment, but it's unclear what the Rangers' plans are with Montgomery. He could work in long relief. Across eight rehab starts, Montgomery logged a 3.75 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB spanning 24 innings.
