Perez didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 10-8 loss to the Rays after giving up five runs on nine hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out six batters in the outing.

The Rangers' offense spotted Perez a three-run lead heading into the third inning, but the southpaw couldn't keep the Rays off the board. After letting in two runs in the third, Perez served up a two-run homer to Evan Longoria before departing with the game tied at five. It ended a streak of four consecutive quality starts for Perez, who now carries a 4.19 ERA and 1.57 WHIP on the season. Perez is in no danger of losing his rotation spot, but with poor ratios and only two wins to date this season, he's best used as a streaming option in deeper leagues rather than a week-in, week-out starter.
