Eovaldi (11-8) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings to take the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Eovaldi gave up back-to-back home runs to Joc Pederson and Christian Walker in the first inning, and Walker got to him for a two-run blast in the third as well. This was the first time in six starts that Eovaldi had given up multiple homers, something he's done just five times this season. His three-start winning streak came to an end, and he now has a 3.67 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 150:36 K:BB through 152 innings over 26 starts this season. Eovaldi's next start is projected to be at home versus the Blue Jays, as the Rangers will build in some rest for their starters with the returns of Jacob deGrom (elbow) and Max Scherzer (shoulder) during this weekend's four-game series versus the Mariners.
