The Rangers placed Jankowski on waivers Thursday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.
In an effort from Texas to shed a bit of payroll, Jankowski is now available for any team to claim for the final month of the year. However, the 33-year-old owns a .491 OPS through 167 plate appearances on the year and has gone just 1-for-17 since the All-Star break, so he will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed and remain with the Rangers.
