The Red Sox are willing to consider "everything available" to them in the rotation, according to the Providence Journal.
The team is attempting to figure out which players should retain a spot in the rotation. After Jake Peavy was hit hard again Tuesday, the situation has become a bit more dire. Brandon Workman seems like he's slated for a spot in the rotation, but the club also wants to keep Rubby De La Rosa around. It's unclear if Peavy would get a break from starting, or wind up on the disabled list with a phantom injury.
Through 98 2/3 innings, Peavy has a 4.93 ERA.
