Bello (12-7) took the loss against the Mets on Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four batters over five innings.
Bello had been on a roll coming into Monday, notching three quality starts over his past four appearances and posting a 2.49 ERA during that span. He wasn't up to that level of performance against New York, as he allowed at least one run in each of the second, third and fourth innings and didn't retire the side in order until his fifth (and final) frame. Bello still managed to keep Boston in the game, and his next start is lined up to be a juicy matchup against the hapless White Sox this weekend.
