Mata (elbow/lat) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday.
The right-hander went down with a hamstring strain in March and has also dealt with shoulder and lat issues since May, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline. However, Mata recently experienced elbow inflammation during his rehab assignment, so he likely won't be back with the Red Sox in the near future.
