Rodriguez (knee) allowed three runs on five hits while striking out three in six innings of a rehabilitation start for Triple-A Pawtucket.
Rodriguez got beat up in the first inning, when he allowed all three runs, but went on to retire 16 of his final 18 batters faced. The Red Sox will consider the next step for Rodriguez, but another rehab start is a strong possibility. That next start would be Sunday. On that schedule, Rodriguez could be back in Boston on May 13.
