Groome will be limited to around five innings an outing as he starts the year at Low-A Greenville, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
The 18-year-old left-hander, the Red Sox's first-round pick in 2016, will follow a path similar to elite prospect Anderson Espinoza (now with San Diego) and Roniel Raudes, both of whom made their full-season debuts at Greenville in 2016. Groome is scheduled to make his debut for the Drive on Monday, per Christopher Smith of MassLive.com.
