Sogard isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Sogard has gone 2-for-16 with seven strikeouts over his last five contests, and the Red Sox will now give him a chance to clear his head Monday. Enmanuel Valdez will pick up a start at the keystone as a result while batting eighth.
