Reyes (abdomen) is considered day-to-day, and the Red Sox are hopeful he can avoid a trip to the injured list after he was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Twins, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Though the Red Sox remain optimistic that Reyes' sore right abdominal muscle won't send him to the shelf, infielder prospect David Hamilton was pulled from the Triple-A Worcester lineup Tuesday in case a replacement is needed on the 26-man active roster. Enrique Hernandez picked up the start at shortstop Tuesday, but the Red Sox prefer not to have him play the position on a full-time basis.
