The Red Sox activated Gonzalez (wrist) from the 10-day injured list. He'll start at first base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Gonzalez missed nearly a month of action with a left wrist sprain but has been cleared to return after playing three minor-league rehab games. He'll fill a utility role with Boston and is likely to see the majority of his starts versus left-handed pitching.
